I know, noob question, but i am a n00b, first time skinning.
I would like to know where the skins are located, like... say the Deagle? Also i only have the GIMP, dont want to spend a few hundreds on photoshop. so if anyone knows (or could write a tutorial on GIMP skinning) it would be great. Thanks, ŦőŁëđŏ§
IN your gcf file that is in your steamapps folder.
You'll need GCFscape to open GCF files, too.
Ya i have gcfscape, im just dunno how to use it o_O
You click on the icon, go into counterstrikesource shared, then follow the path of whatever skin you want
such as cstrike/materials/model/weapons/vweapons/vdeagle and then edit the vtf's
K so ive edited the skin, but i had to save as tga, now how do i convert it back so i can load it... and where do i save it? :/ sry, I just need to know then i wont ask again.
Uh I hate gimp. It hacks the file names. Change them to GIMP Files. Instead of JPEG, GIF, PNG and so on.
Yay i saved it, its a vtf, only thing left, where do i save it so i can use it ingame (without perma replacing it)
Cstrike/materials/model/weapons/vweapons/vwhatever skin you edited, then your done with it, take it out
