Im having this problem in 3ds max where when ever i try to click any of the modifiers in the edit section itl work but when the new window opens nothing in there responds... when ever i click on something nothoing happens

the section in the red is the section im talking about. when i click the tiny window beside the options (connect) another window will open (picture on the right) but the options in that window dont work

help please...
