What is clipping?

I've been hearin everywhere on gamebanana about clipping. But what is it? Why is it so important? So many people complain about it and saying "Oh wow so much clipping." Im guessing it's something about the reload animation with the clip?

    BAsicaly, it's when two or more 3d objects go trough each other.

    Yes,you can fix it.but if you have hours of time to edit the animation frame by frame.
