So i've been making skins for the players in counter strike source. I've been using vtf edit and gcf scape to take the original files, convert them to PNG format, where i edit them using Gimp 2.0. Then i convert them back into vtf and put them in the appropriate folders. When i launch the game, the skin appears how i want it ingame, however, i notice when i am about 3 feet or more away from the player, the texture of my skin gets grainy/frosty. When i get closeup,however, it will have its normal smoothness. Whats going on? You think it would be a bump map problem, but i have that covered with the appropriate vmt and vtf files and such.
