Sound Modding Problm

Changing sounds makes the gun have no shooting sound at all

By steelmoon32 4 years ago

Hi! I've been using FPSB for a while but i finally decided to make an account. Anyways, when I try to change the sound of my AK-47 or M4A1, I shoot and no sound comes out. The consoles says:

Failed to load sound ")weapons\galil\galil-1.wav", file probably missing from disk/repository Failed to load sound ")weapons\m4a1\m4a1_unsil-1.wav", file probably missing from disk/repository Failed to load sound ")weapons\jen.ak\fire.wav", file probably missing from disk/repository

I've tried to change the file name to exactly what it says but it still comes up with that problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

If they dont work either the sound is in the wrong place or you didn't name it right...

I do know that some skins come with custom names for the firing sounds.. maybe thats has something to do with it.. oh and if all else fails you can delete the sounds folder that came with your skins and you will get default gun sounds back..

Yeah they did come with custom names for the firing sound. I renamed it exactly like what they called it but it still comes up with that problem.

Thanks for the help anyway ^.^

I THINK some skins come with 'custom sounds' but are named with the default name of the firing sound... so you could find a different skin and look for the default sound name and try that with the skin your wanting to use... I havent used skins in a long time so I dont remember them unfortunately..

Edit** Ok I'm pretty sure I ran into this problem once and using default sound names worked with the skin.. here is all the default names..

    ak47.1.wav aug-1.wav awp1.wav deagle-1.wav elite-1.wav famas-1.wav fiveseven-1.wav g3sg1-1.wav galil-1.wav glock18-1.wav m249-1.wav m3-1.wav m4a1-1.wav mac10-1.wav mp5-1.wav p228-1.wav p90-1.wav scout_fire-1.wav sg550-1.wav sg552-1.wav tmp-1.wav ump45-1.wav usp1.wav xm1014-1.wav
