Water / displacements

I need them to live together in harmony... >_>

So, self explanatory.

How the hell do I place water within a basin that used displacements without having intersecting brushes / without using the dreaded carve?

Or is it okay to use one of the two techniques in this case using a certain technique?

If you don't understand what I mean just tell me and I'll try to find an example.

I just want to know how to place water on terrain that's using displacements, like how do I fit it around the bumps and shit.

You can overlap the two, it wont cause problems if you do.

The water can intersect with displacements. That won't cause any problems as that's the only way you can do it.
