Well, my computer has killed itself after owning it for like.. 2 months.. nice..

I can't open up counter strike source at all, i've reinstalled it and it still doesn't work.. sweet..

When i go to open it, it opens for maybe 5 seconds, then quits out and says Hl2.exe has stopped working..

It's been working fine until just the other night.. Comp Specs, incase wondering, are:

Manufacturer: HP-Pavilion Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz Memory: 1022MB RAM Hard Drive: 311 GB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor Sound Card: Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio) Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6000) (6000.vista_ldr.071023-1545)

Anyone else have this problem... I was thinking of trying Reforce, but it doesn't work on vista i heard.. Damn..

Startup of css... If i was talking about the general start up of my computer, i wouldn't of posted it in the counter strike source help forum.. Also, please try and write with a bit of effort.

Update all your drivers. And update your graphics card, I had a similar problem when I had installed a new card and failed to update it. And my friend had the same issue with just failure to update. Give that a shot.

Like when my ati driver had an update i installed it, and in the installer it came with steam, so i clicked install, then my brother cam home and decided to install HL2:E1 on the 2nd steam and it raped my source games, and i ended up reinstalling my graphics card driver just so i could uninstall my second steam.

I updated my drivers and it's still getting the hl2.exe has stopped working message. And i've only got one steam on it, plus all other games work fine, it's just css.

Sorry, Im all out of ideas then................................ You could try backing up your games, and then reinstalling steam. Other then that Im out of ideas.

Well, i just went on a friends steam account, and tried to open CSS from it, and it worked.. So i'm guessing there's some problem with the hl2.exe on the account I use or something?
