When I put this into my HL2 folder and open it with Source SDK, the textures show up as errors. Any idea why?

Make sure you also change the path in the VMT, currently it's pre-mapped to be correct in my folder but if you change the place where the files are you should also change the path in the VMT.

This is most likely your problem that you didn't changed it.

Thank you, it fixed it! I'm really loving the texture!

but CS:GO uses a new version of VTF, or is it also backwards-compatible?

Newer Versions of VTF can not be read by older builds of the source engine but older VTF versions can be read by newer builds and doesn't really change much other than better byte handling and some other slight changes.

why not also a CS:GO release?

pondering if I should setup a thread offering X points for each texture released for CS:GO

This is a texture release this texture can be used on every source engine game that supports VTF and VMT formats.

I've added an update file that contains a more expanded version that could be used for a walk way or some kind here's a picture of the pieces: filedetails/?id=93677016

    much better now :)

The floor is mostly covered; still need the walls, ceiling, windows for future updates ;)

I feel that this texture could have been more useful if it was part of a sci-fi texture pack (some 8-10 textures covering floor, walls, ceiling, windows...)

It would have come in very handy for people competing in the current Mars-themed Red Planet contest.

    But, nonetheless, good texture :)
