    This really isn't that appealing. All you did was throw an image on top of the default texture and adjust the opacity slightly, which is what a lot of people do with their first skins. The best step you could take is to hit the tutorials and learn some of the techniques that are shown in there, and then practicing for a while. Make WiP submissions so that you can get some advice before actually submitting the skin for people to use, that way you can get some help with improving it before you finalize and submit it.

    first skin or not, this is just another overlay job. nothing overly impressive, if even that.
