    Adding shaders does not automatically make a skin good.

    It's how you use it, and whether you use it properly.

    This rifle looks like it got dipped in oil with butter spread on it

    Perhaps Boba Fett forgot to check the texture more thoroughly, but what you've done here is little more than decrease the brightness of the default texture. That's not retexturing, that's a recolour.

    The normals were quickly generated, but Boba's covered that. Overall, though, the work you've done here is minimal. You probably spent the most time tweaking the vmt, which is not a good sign.

    Its a start but requires fixes for one your Normal Map is made from the Diffuse making it an INCORRECT Normal Map.

    So that would be something I'd recommend fixing, take a look at this tutorial for more information about making a proper height map and generating a Normal Map for it:

    Also the Normal Map doesn't have a specular on its alpha so also another thing I would recommend adding as you are using the default texture's the _REF texture mostly with every CS:S texture can be used as the specular or you should just make one your self.

    The phong and rimlight seems good a good way to experiment with other settings like cubemap and phongwarps but always make sure you don't have twice the same code in your vmt. Currently the string "$phongalbedotint" is placed twice just below each other.

    So yea those are points to fix if you are going to do any more of these releases.
