surf_buttes_v2

This is Surf_Buttes_v2

I made this map in 5 hours. This is uploaded for the PARTY PRINCESS PALACE server AKA best server ever. I touched up the original surf_buttes which hopefully will never see the light of day. This map is a fun freeform map (at least in my opinion). It is kinda crappily made but i like it. I get good fps but this map is pretty much impossible to optimize well. I actually had to turn the lightmap up to that it would compile without crashing. Yea....

It was really originally my 'test' map to making a surf map. I just touched it up and released it due to request. Like I said in my comments, I know it is a giant box map with pretty bad surf brushes, poor texture use, ect. It is fun map (at least I think so) but it is some of my worse work.

Of course, it is better if you know the secrets, which there are a couple. Also, I understand that you can skip the entire map, I will probably never fix it but I did try to make it harder for a player to get to the better secret areas.

Don't rate him so bad. surf is meant to be fun. who cares about looks and other stuff, you don't need smooth ramps if it's only one ramp and then another you have to surf onto to.

make more maps like this, just try not to make it look really bad.

Dont be so hard on him...ima rate after i play real quick

    edit:

i liked it. the atmosphere is something ive never quite came across before (looks like an acid trip).... the surf is long... the only cons are:

no smooth ramps you can skip the whole map there were no people to play it with me :(

DevNotes

I made this in about 3-4 hours in a stoned haze originally. I touched it up and made it more fun I hope. That took about an hour and I added a whole lot more.
