nyro's SDK Steam Group

SURF_LT_OMNIFIC - 08-07-12

NOTE TO SERVER OWNERS:

This map features secret trails, which are parented to grenades. If your server removes these then you won't be able to acquire them.

FPS ISSUES?

Try r_3dsky 0 if you have fps issues. This disables the 3d skybox and will free up some resources.

If you're running in windowed mode, try switching to fullscreen as well.

This map has A LOT of custom content(specifically the amount of model files), I optimized it the best I could. Unfortunately some players will have fps problems while others will remain unaffected.

Description:
    - 18 stages increasing in difficulty as you progress.
    - 3 additional bonus stages.
    - All surf ramps were made out of models.
    - Designed for 66 tick.

Great map, I really like it. I especially like the progression in difficulty through out the map. But as stated before, it's definitely not for beginners or average surfers, you'd have to be very good to complete it. Overall tho, it's a very extraordinary map and extremely good. Good job!

any chance you could make a version of it for tf2 with infoplayerteamspawn replacing infoplayerterrorist, i tried to decompile and do myself, but my knowledge is limited and it didnt work. thanks. edit: also, great map

I don't have TF2 installed, you could try ent editing it with a program called EntSpy.

Possibly one of the best made maps I've ever seen. Looks incredible, even if I do have fps issues. There's definite challenge for everyone in this map even if there's nothing for those who aren't great at skillsurf.

    Well done the lt team!

This map doesn't have a lot to offer people who aren't pro surfers. It seems to be specifically made for timer servers. So here is my rating: The amount of stages is ridiculous. Maybe next time try to make a map that changes from round to round (it's possible, you just need to learn to map better), which would truly offer the player a different experience each round. You've proved that you know how to utilize custom content properly, but that isn't a saving-grace of a map either. You made this map out to be something very special, but in reality, it's a rehash with "pretty" textures. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not saying you guys are bad mappers, I'm just saying that you should present your work more modestly. If you guys (or kids, whatever) decide to make another map, I don't think it should be surf. I think you have something to offer people, but not in this community.

This is pretty much what I've been thinking. The map is really really well made, but it just isn't fun at all if you aren't one of the best surfers. Having the stages switching from round to round would be great, but not fitting well to the surf timer system which the map seems dedicated to.

    In your head.
