Yes, unfortunatley its inevitable that CSS takes longer (depends on your machine). Since this is a background map and not just a background picture it takes longer to load. Well, CSS is not really loading longer, but it has to load the background map first :)

Since this background is actually a map, it doesn't matter which resolution you have. Should work with every setting.

Well, you just do a little map and instead of a playerspawn you use a infoplayerlogo & point_viewcontrol. It's very well explained here. But I might as well do a video tutorial if the question keeps popping up :)
